Aberdeenshire Community Resilience Fund
Applications are now being taken for a new £200,000 Aberdeenshire Community Resilience Fund.
Constituted community groups, resilience groups and volunteering organisations can submit a simple application form to the council’s Area Managers. New groups without a constitution are being encouraged to work with others who have been established longer and have systems and bank accounts in place.
Grants of up to £2,000 for community resilience work are available and will be awarded on a first-come basis.
As further community resilience funds become available from the Scottish Government, the value of grants and the criteria will be reviewed, however the principle aim at present is to be as flexible as possible for each individual community.
An application form and guidance is available here

Supporting Communities Fund
The Scottish Government have announced a £40 million fund to support the rapidly growing community efforts to respond to the Coronavirus at a local level. A large part of the Supporting Communities Fund will be distributed through community anchor organisations, and DTAS wrote out to members on Friday 28th of March with further details on this.
At the moment, they are asking members to get back to them with an expression of interest indicating how much funding you require and for what activity.
Completed expressions of interest should be returned here as soon as possible.

Young Carer Grant is a £305.10 payment for young people aged 16 to 18 who spend an average of 16 hours caring for someone who receives a disability benefit.
You may not have been eligible before but if COVID-19 means you are spending more time caring – you should check to see if you are eligible. The average of 16 hours could be made of support you give to more than one person – as long as the people you help are getting certain disability benefits it all counts.
We are now accepting applications from those young carers who were eligible for but unable to apply for before turning 19 due to COVID-19.

If you put in your application late, we will check your eligibility based on your circumstances the day before you turned 19.
