Mearns Camera Club Exhibition Starts 1st August till the 31st.
Every year, in August, Stonehaven’s Library is the venue for a local photography exhibition. The pictures won’t necessarily be local but they will have been submitted by people from the local area. It will be upstairs (lift available) and well worth a visit.
The Mearns Camera Club was formed more than 50 years ago but has kept pace with the ever changing world of photography. It was called ‘The Mearns Camera Club’ to try and appeal to people from the wider area rather than just the town.
The number of prints on display varies from year to year and depends on what is submitted by the members. Last year was a bumper year with over 80 prints on display. The choice of which pictures to submit is left to the members, no criteria is laid down.
The club meets every Monday evening in the Community Centre in Robert Street at 7.30pm from September to April. New members are always welcome and are essential to keep the club in good health. Copies of the syllabus for 2019/20 will be available at the exhibition.
