WHILE motorists travelling between Stonehaven and Crathes face weeks of diversions this summer, cyclists and pedestrians will continue to enjoy full access to the A957.
A council spokesman has confirmed measures will be put in place to enable pedestrians and cyclists to use the Slug Road during the July and August closure.
The repair works start at Blairydrine Bridge near Durris on July 1 and will roll on via Cowton and Mowtie Bridges to a scheduled finish at Findlayston Bridge outside Stonehaven on August 24.
This means walkers and cyclists can look forward to almost two full months of access to one of the area’s most scenic routes with very much diminished traffic.
