THE first weekly informal drop-in hosted by the flood protection scheme contractors was held this morning at The Villa coffee shop on Arbuthnott Place.

Community liaison officer Sheila Tolmie of McLaughlin & Harvey was joined by project Manager Matt Sharpe for today’s cup of coffee and chat opportunity that saw a number of locals go along to have their questions answered and concerns addressed.

These sessions will take place every Thursday starting at 10am.

Sheila told The Bellman, “We are more than happy to engage with the community and help them with any information.

“This is especially helpful for older people who don’t have access to the web.”

Those who can go online, will find information and links about the project timeline on a dedicated page on the Aberdeenshire Council website.

A quarterly newsletter is also to be produced, covering concerns flagged by residents and information about the progress of the project and forthcoming works.
