Transport pressure group welcome station improvements

By bellmannews / February 14, 2019
northbound train at Stonehaven station

Transport Action Kincardineshire (TrAK),  the Kincardine and Mearns Transport pressure group, very much welcome the proposed upgrade at Montrose station.

Following the introduction of the new train service it is a important interchange as passengers travelling from Portlethen and Laurencekirk to stations South of Montrose have to change there. Stonehaven passengers will also have to alight there to make connections to 50% of the fast trains.

TrAK will be pressing  for heated waiting facilities on both platforms at  Montrose station as because of its proximity to the Basin it is in  a particularly exposed environment.

It is all very well updating Montrose Station, but having to change trains there going south is a massive inconvenience.
Better to stay on the train, keep your seat and get to your destination more quickly and less hassle.
Scotrail please change back the timetables.
