STONEHAVEN Folk Festival organisers are hosting a visit from a group of French dancers and folk musicians who are touring Scotland this month and who will play at both the open air pool and Dunnottar Castle.
Les Etournias are based in the Charente Maritime region of western France, in and around the city of La Rochelle. They play extensively at folk festivals across France. Some 27 musicians and dancers will be travelling to Scotland for a programme of events, at the invitation of SC&T (Scottish Culture and Traditions), who are an equivalent Scottish folk music and dance charity based in and around Aberdeen.
During their visit, their programme is as follows :
- June 14th – Visit to Glendronach Distillery (pm), evening Session at the Hopeville Club, Inverurie
- June 15th – Concert at Drum Castle (pm), evening Ceilidh dance at St Margaret’s Church Hall, Gallowgate, Aberdeen
- June 16th – Aberdeen Highland Games (am), Aqua Ceilidh at Stonehaven Outdoor Pool (3-5 pm), evening Session at the Blue Lamp, Gallowgate, Aberdeen
- June 17th – Visit to Dunnottar Castle, Stonehaven (10 am)
